MIRGOR PRESENCE AT INTERNATIONAL FAIR IN GERMANY
IZB (The International Suppliers Fair), the leading trade fair of Automotive Industry Suppliers, took place in Wolfburg, Germany, from 10th to 12th October, 2012.
DELL ANNOUNCED TO GIORGI THAT THEY WILL MANUFACTURE NOTEBOOKS IN TIERRA DEL FUEGO
Managers of the American multinational company announced to the Minister of Industry today that they will attain a production capacity of 180,000 personal computers per year, and that they will generate 124 new jobs. Mass production will start at the end of February, with two computer models.
AUTOMECHANIKA ARGENTINA 2012 HAS BEEN INAUGURATED
This Wednesday, Automechanika Argentina 2012 was formally inaugurated with the “Conference of Automotive Industry Leaders 2012 – Building Consensus,” and the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. The show is being held on La Rural fair grounds, covering 40,000 square meters. Over 400 companies from 26 countries are participating and will be exhibiting their products and services for the auto parts market until next Saturday.
UOM STARTED A PREVENTION CAMPAIGN IN FACTORIES
The Metal Workers Union of Río Grande (Unión Obrera Metalúrgica, UOM) started a breast cancer prevention campaign in their factories, during working hours. The first companies to offer room to hold this activity -which is performed by professionals on a voluntary basis- were those belonging to Grupo Mirgor. The people responsible for this duty highlighted the initiative, carried out jointly by doctors, companies and the union.

THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GET UNDERWAY THE PLAN FOR MAKING THE INDUSTRIAL HUB FUNCTIONAL AGAIN.
Governor Fabiana Ríos and Major Gustavo Melella signed the agreement to start the works included in the program financed by the CFI (federal investment council). Through this program, they agree to work jointly in order to solve infrastructure and logistic issues. These works will be implemented after the signature of the agreement. This happened during the Industry Day celebration, which was held in Río Grande for the first time.

COMPANIES FROM TIERRA DEL FUEGO PARTICIPATED IN A FAIR IN CÓRDOBA
Mirgor and Río Chico were invited to an exhibition of farm machinery and agricultural components organized in Córdoba by the INTA (National Agricultural Technology Institute of Argentina). Sandra Gárnica, Secretary of the Government Official Representation in Buenos Aires, signed four adhesion agreements with Mirgor to the “Programa de Becas Específicas para Estudios Universitarios y Superiores” (a program that grants scholarships for higher education). This new adhesion is part of the corporate social responsibility actions promoted by the Provincial Government.

Rubén Sciutto, Member of the Argentine House of Representatives at national level (Peronist Party), visited the Mirgor S.A. plant premises as part of his campaign to renew his seat at the National Congress. “We will continue to support the production sector in Tierra del Fuego, particularly addressing the requirements and needs of the workers of all factories, and articulating policies to ensure a sustained continuity of the whole manufacturing activity,” he stated.
A PLAN TO TRIPLE THE PRODUCTION OF DEVICES
Last year, Nokia Argentina started manufacturing cell phones in Tierra del Fuego. Nokia released a line of smartphones N8, in the context of an agreement between the Finnish company and IATEC, a company of Grupo Mirgor to produce mid-range and high-end cell phones.

Yesterday the Ministry of Industry authorized two companies to boost their production plans in Tierra del Fuego. By means of two resolutions published on the Official Gazette, the institution managed by Minister Débora Giorgi supported the initiatives of Noblex Argentina and IATEC to expand their projects in the south.
BGH AND MIRGOR EXPAND THEIR PLANTS IN TIERRA DEL FUEGO
THEY REQUIRED U$S 136 MILLIONS INVESTMENT With the attendance of President Cristina Fernández and the Minister of Industry, Débora Giorgi, the expansion of two electronic appliances factories in Tierra del Fuego that demanded U$S 136 millions investment was announced. They are the BGH Argentina and Iatec plants, part of the Mirgor Group, which produces cell phones for Nokia. This group will actually allocate 86 U$S millions this year to triple their current production from 732,000 to 2.2 million units, which will create 152 direct jobs.
